The International WeLoveU Foundation together with the Salvokop Youth Development Centre visited Salvokop on the 12th of September 2021 to clean the site and about 238 trash bags were collected.

The International WeLoveU Foundation which began in Korea, has grown to be an international NGO with more than 155 000 members in 64 countries.

Mr Wandile Mazibuko, the youth leader of WeLoveU Foundation says one of their programs is the Clean World movement which is about taking care of the environment.

“So, we are doing a clean-up campaign so we can clean the community. If we have a clean world, we can live better as citizens of this world” says Mr Mazibuko.

The youth of Salvokop were there to support and help.

Mr Tsivo Khoza who is a member of the Salvokop Youth Development Centre says helping to clean is a good thing and the younger ones will be inspired to do something for the community and for the children to have a clean place to play at.

“Let’s just say, we have Freedom Park which is an attraction basically so the government does come and check the area, but we are not sure if they do something or not,” says Mr Khoza.
