The vaccination numbers of all persons in the city have increased since the introduction of the weekend vaccination programme on 31 July 2021. From the 30th of July to 09 August 2021, 58 064 people received their Covid-19 vaccines.

Mr Selby Bokaba, the City of Tshwane’s head of communication said the vaccinations of the public that are in the ages of 18-34 years will start on the 1st of September 2021.

“The City would like to once more implore all eligible age groups to register on the Electronic Vaccination Data System (EVDS) by using the following link: https://vaccine.enroll.health.gov/za/#/ and they can visit any of the identified eight vaccination static sites that will offer vaccines on Saturdays and Sundays from 08h00 to 15h00” says Mr Bokaba.

The weekend vaccination programme was added for people that work or have other commitments during the week. Anyone who wants to be vaccinated can visit vaccination sites that are under the Department of Health and won’t be turned away because they are not registered.

Three more vaccination sites were added to operate from Monday to Friday. The Atteridgeville Community Hall is replaced by the Saulsville Arena because of big space for people which operates weekdays from 08:00 to 15:30 and also weekends and public holidays
