100 + Movement

The 100+ Movement is an organization that was formed by friends who realized that they could make a difference with the little they had. It was established on the 17th of December 2013 with pledges made to start with their first activity.

The movement is an NPO and only serves the community of Attridgeville. The drive was influenced by the need for food in the community.

Tebatso Kiewiet, who is part of the organization shares how they would like to inspire people to do their bit with the little that they have even if it is just by giving their time to the community.

The 100+ Movement has been involved in multiple projects such as Restoring Christmas which helped three disadvantaged families from the township of Atteridgeville with food parcels donated to all of the three families. The movement has also had various Winter and Drive Soup projects with soup, clothes, and blankets donated.

During the lockdown, the organization felt the need to help since some of the residences have no means of earning an income.

“We felt the need to win the poverty battle while fighting the pandemic” added Mr Kiewiet.

The organization hopes to do more and get more hands that will assist in helping the poor.

“We want to be at the forefront of correcting social ills in the community, from poverty to drug abuse”, said Mr Kiewiet.
