Otto Nobela is an independent movie actor from Attridgeville who started his career through a community group called Siphewe Isipho in 2008. The love for acting and entertaining inspired him to push through closed doors.

Mr Nobela looks up to Kagiso Lediga, Warren Masemula, and Grootman Levy who are famous actors. Acting has exposed him to great opportunities, traveling the world, and meeting legends of the acting industry.

“I have recently done a show that represented the country in Angola, working alongside Mama Sibongile Khumalo, McKenzie, and Mimi Mamabolo” he added.

He also got an opportunity to play the role of Kagiso Lediga in a hit South African movie Matwetwe that was produced by Black Coffee.

Mr Nobela also represented Pretoria on the first African original Netflix series, starring Pearl Thusi on Queen Sono which premiered in more than 190 countries.

“I also have had the opportunity of being invited to a show on SABC 2 called Bantu Hour,” said Mr Nobela.

“The experience was overwhelmingly great,” he said.

Mr Nobela hopes to do more great things on the screens in the near future.

“Coming from the hood, I always felt that sometimes we limit ourselves simply because we are from the hood which is why I have always wanted to be a living proof to youngsters that everything is possible regardless of their place of origin,” he said.
