Laudium — Robin Villa secured a convincing 20–11 victory over Little Manhattan in a friendly netball match hosted by West City Republic student residents on Saturday, 18 April 2026, at the West City Netball Court.

Robin Villa set the tone early, dominating the first quarter with a 10–3 lead. The team displayed strong defensive skills, sharp passing and accurate shooting, which gave them control of the game from the start. They continued their solid performance into the second quarter, maintaining their 10–8 advantage.

Little Manhattan fought hard to close the gap, showing determination and improved coordination as the match progressed. Despite their efforts, the early lead proved difficult to overturn, and Robin Villa held on to secure the win.

Robin Villa, goal shooter, Mpho Mokoena, credited teamwork for the victory. “We all put in the effort in today’s game and kept good communication on the court, that’s why we managed to play well and get the scores we got today,” she said.

Little Manhattan coach Obakeng acknowledged the slow start but praised his team’s spirit. “We did not start off on a strong foot, and we did not play the way we wanted to, but we tried, and we had fun, and that is all that matters,” he said.

The friendly match aimed to showcase youth talent, give young female netball players an opportunity to develop their skills, and bring students together. Event organiser Karabo said the match achieved its purpose. “This was more than just a match. This was about bringing students together to have fun. Both teams really played well,” she said.

Both teams are set to face off again in the upcoming Youth Activision netball match on Saturday, 25 April 2026, at Maderia ISLES in Laudium.
