Mr Kennedy Mudzuli, born and raised in Venda, currently deputy editor at the Pretoria news, says he joined the music industry due to his love for music.

Known as Dj Edit SAM, Mr Mudzuli released his debut album, ‘The shift EP’ during the hard Lockdown.

He thanked the online community that presented an opportunity to promote his music through his distribution company, Electromode, which has protected his music digitally.

It all started with a simple love for dance music, then escalated to curiosity about how music was produced. As time went on it developed into a desire to contribute to the music industry.

“Right now, it is about fulfilling a dream, I don’t want to be 80 years old and wonder why I never get involved in music. I have a foot in the Afro House tlYech scene and I am confident that the sky is the limit,” he said.

Mr Mudzuli was inspired to make music by the older generation of Oskido, Fresh, Kent, Euphonic, Mbaso and then in the future, he hopes to try some electronic dance music.

“I would like to collaborate with Limpopo ‘s finest Makhadzi and Sho Madjozi and also KZN’ s Lizwi on vocals. I love their energy and believe they can bring some additional magic to any beat. On the production side it is Caiiro” said Mr Mudzuli.

He said that Covid-19 and Lockdown have been a big hindrance for musical performances with lined up events such as the annual 16 December Tshwane all-white party postponed until next year. He is hoping to perform in Venda after Christmas.

“My Friday mixes on SMU FM have also been my favorite moments. I appreciate the support my fans have shown me. It is never too late to pursue a dream and they must lookout for more Killer tunes and more growth from Dj Edit SA” said Mr Mudzuli.
