The Economic Freedom Fighter (EFF) Head of the Desk Commissar, Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi, led the EFF Labour March to the Department of Employment and Labour and the SASSA offices to demand that workers be paid the R350 Unemployment Insurance Relief.
The march was also to demand that workers receive Temporary Employer Relief Scheme β TERS pay-outs claimed on their behalf by the employers.
Ms Hlengiwe Mkhaliphi said the EFF demands that the R350 must be increased to R1000
βThe verifying that goes on forever must come to an end, If SASSA does not have capacity then they must employ people,β she sadi.
The Commissar demanded that within the next 48 hours, the Labour Department must ensure that the outstanding amounts are paid immediately to the workers.
The EFF also demanded that all companies who are fraudsters be made public as a matter of urgency.
