Pretoria residents today gathered at Church Square and marched to the Nigerian and Zimbabwean embassies to demand that human trafficking, child abduction, and drugs should come to an end.

“We are marching to the Nigerian and Zimbabwean embassies regarding human trafficking and much more other crimes that are committed mostly by these people,” Nandiswa Qwari of the leaders of the march said.

Lerato Pillay said, “They are ready to fight us, this is what we are told to tolerate and accept beingg bullied in our own country.

“From today, we will march and fight fire with fire, the time for talking without action has come to an end, Jo’burg CBD and Pretoria will be used as examples,” she said.

Another leader, Ms Nandiswa Qwari, said she knows of more than seven cases currently which in each of the case Nigerians are allegedly involved.

“We don’t feel safe whenever our children are out, we have to keep eyes on them because any time a person can disappear, we fear for the life of our women and kids,” said Mpho Kwena, one of the marchers.

Protesters marched peacefully to hand out their demand to both embassies.
