The Mooikloof Mega residential city development was launched over the weekend by the President.
The project is said to be ideally suited for state employees such as police officers, health workers, civil and administrative staff as well as parastatal employees who will be well accommodated in this high value and quality development.
The Mega-City development is a catalytic mega-scale development in the Eats of the City of Tshwane with a development area of 198ha.
President Cyril Ramaphosa received a briefing from Stephen Brookes, CEO at Balwin Properties Pty Ltd on the new Mooikloof Mega City Development.
The development addresses the spatial and social inequality of the South African urban fabric, providing access to lifestyle services previously inaccessible to individuals in lower-income groups.
The development project is estimated to create 41 600 direct jobs and 1962 217 indirect jobs during the construction phase and 6 123 direct jobs 29 583 indirect jobs when fully operational. The Mooikloof Megacity residential project is a groundbreaking, public-private partnership (PPP), that will see the construction of 16 000 units for low-income earners.
Head of the Investment and Infrastructure office, Kgosientsho Ramokgopha said that he looks forward to seeing this form of integrated development being expanded to all parts of the country.
“The launch further reinforces the appropriateness of the district development model and the collaboration of the three spheres government”, said the Gauteng Premier, Mr David Makhura.
