Minister for the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, Dr. Naledi Pandor, Côte d’Ivoire Minister Camara of State and Foreign Affairs, accompanied by various diplomats visited Leratong Hospice in Atteridgeville for their International Nelson Mandela 67minutes day.

Mr. Katlholo Maifadi from Leratong Hospice said spending 67 minutes for Mandela International Day in the Leratong Hospice was an honor.

“Mandela Day serves as a reminder of his contribution to the culture of freedom and peace and his life teaches us that in difficult circumstances, we should choose respect over contempt, speak up against injustice, and forgive rather than hate.

“Dr Naledi Pandor and all the other nations who helped make this a wonderful day for Leratong Hospice are greatly appreciated. I can count the number of gifts received for our patients including groceries, clothing, and cozy blankets. We appreciate and thank you very much,” had said.

Minister Camara, said every day should be dedicated to honoring Mr Mandela’s life and legacy, especially in light of the possibility that future generations may not be familiar with his leadership.

“We should continue to discuss his life with our kids, find out what we have in common, give everyone the tools they need to nature our democracies and use Mandela’s memory to shed light on the path ahead,” he said.

Dr Naledi Pandor thanked all the participants in the 67 of Mandela Day including ambassadors from Mexico, Venezuela, Qatar, Austria, and India.
