Kalafong Hospital embarks on Covid-19 outreach program

Kalafong Hospital put the health and safety of the Atteridgeville residents as a priority last Tuesday 8 December 2020 by hosting an outreach program in conjunction with the Tshwane District Health Department and Metro Police Department at Stadium Plaza.

The Kalafong Communications Officer, Mr Given Makhuvele, said with the second wave of the Covid – 19 pandemic, the hospital hosted the outreach to educate the public about the risks of an increase in high movement.

Along with screening and testing for Covid–19, the team from Kalafong also conducted blood pressure, glucose, and HIV.

Nurse Paulinah Matshekgo, said it is important to remind residents of the dangers of breaking Covid – 19 protocols as the festive season approaches.

“During the festive season, we mostly see a lot of activities in communities that result in gathering such as parties and celebrations.

“We are appealing with communities to firmly follow the regulations because the war against Covid-19 is far from over,” she said.
